InBody Analysis from Lamb Medical
InBody Analysis Available in Pittsburgh
Lamb Medical Wellness/Weight Loss services, such as InBody Analysis, are provided under our BeWell Membership Program.
How does it work?
InBody Analysis is a quick, non-invasive body composition test that provides a detailed look at your body’s makeup—including muscle mass, body fat percentage, water distribution, and more. It offers a more accurate picture of health than a standard scale or BMI measurement.
The InBody device uses bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), which sends a safe, low-level electrical current through the body to measure resistance in different tissues. This data helps calculate your body composition with high precision.
Ditch the scale
Weight loss is not the same as fat loss. As we age, we naturally lose some of our heavy, dense muscle mass, and a lower number on the scale doesn’t always mean we’re in peak condition. The key to physical fitness is losing excess body fat, not overall body weight. Instead of tracking how heavy you are, use body composition analysis to track how healthy you are.
What does it measure?
See what you’re made of
You are much more than one standardized number. Your weight is made up of muscle, fat, bone, and water, and the proportions of these different elements are known as your body composition. When you take a body composition test on the InBody 380, it shows you how many pounds of muscle, fat, bone, and water you actually have. Armed with this data, you can make little adjustments that lead to major long- term improvements.
InBody reports include key metrics such as:
- Body fat percentage
- Skeletal muscle mass
- Total body water
- Visceral fat level
- Basal metabolic rate (BMR)
- Segmental analysis of fat and muscle (arms, legs, trunk)
Is the test safe and comfortable?
Yes. The procedure is completely painless and takes less than a minute. You stand on the machine with bare feet and hold hand electrodes while the scan is performed.

Who should get an InBody Analysis?
It’s ideal for anyone looking to monitor their fitness progress, lose weight, gain muscle, improve athletic performance, or track changes in overall health.
How often should I get tested?
Many people choose to repeat the test every 4–6 weeks to track progress, though your provider can recommend a schedule based on your personal goals.
Are there any restrictions?
InBody Analysis is not recommended for individuals with implanted electronic medical devices (like pacemakers) or for pregnant women, due to the small electrical current used during testing.
