O-Shot

The O-Shot® procedure utilizes blood-derived growth factors, notably platelet-rich plasma (PRP), in a targeted manner to activate multi-potent stem cells. This activation promotes the development of healthier and more functional tissue in key areas associated with sexual response and urinary continence within the vagina. These areas include the G-Spot, O-Spot, Skene’s Glands, urethra, and vaginal wall.

How does it work?

The key to the O-Shot is the platelet-rich plasma. Because PRP contains such a high concentration of blood platelets, combined with a series of growth factors and cytokines, it plays a key role in healing the body.

Of course, everyone knows how platelets work to clot the blood and close a wound after an injury. But it’s only been in the last 20 years or so that research has shown that platelets offer more than simply clotting power. Their growth factors and cytokines stimulate various healing processes to not only help close the wound but also to trigger processes to heal the wound with new tissue growth.

That’s where PRP first became a standard treatment, in the healing of injury or to speed recovery after surgery in professional athletes.

What’s good for a knee joint is good for a woman’s clitoral and vaginal areas. The same regeneration and rejuvenating qualities inherent in PRP work to renew tissues in the vaginal areas. The growth factors, in particular, work to increase sensitivity throughout the injected tissues. They also increase lubrication, which is an almost universal problem for women as they age. They help to tighten loose tissues responsible for urinary incontinence. The PRP can even increase interest in sex for some patients.

What can I expect?

The O-Shot® procedure is a quick, usually painless, 20-minute non-surgical procedure with a simple blood draw. Then, using a proprietary technique, platelet rich plasma is extracted from the blood and injected into the clitoral and upper vaginal area. There is no recovery time and results are almost immediate in some women.
