Microneedling

rf microneedle

What is Microneedling?

RF MicroNeedling is becoming the new go-to for treating acne scars, helping to resurface textural irregularities, and tightening and firming aging skin by boosting collagen production.

Microneedling causes very small controlled punctures into the skin causing your own immune system to rush to the area to encourage healing.  This process can help pores appear smaller, diminish wrinkles, and remodel the skin.

At Lamb Medical we utilize the Endymed Pure system which is far superior to any microneedling pen or roller you will find. Why? Because this system allows the needles to be inserted in and out of the skin in a straight and very controlled manner. This maximizes the effectiveness while minimizing unnecessary skin tearing or trauma from needles accidentally dragging across the skin. The radio frequency charge connects the needle tips under the skin creating tissue remodeling just where you need it.

You also have the ability to add topical PRP to any microneedling service. Learn more about PRP here.

Frequently Asked Questions-

Is Microneedling only for the face?

No. We often use microneedling on the neck and chest also. Microneedling can also be performed on the arms, legs, and abdomen. Pretty much anywhere you have scarring, signs of aging, skin laxity, stretch marks or cellulite.

Does Microneedling hurt?

Certain areas of the body are more sensitive than others but we have designed a powerful and effective numbing ointment that will be applied prior to the start of your session to allow you to be comfortable.

How long until I see results?

You will notice a glow a few days after your session but full effectivness will not be seen for approximately 3 months (it takes your body some time to work through it’s healing process).

Will I need more than one session?

Yes. We recommend 4-6 session depending on the area. Session are usually performed 4 weeks apart. We always recommend a consultation to review the number of session you will need and the results you can expect.

Is there any downtime?

Your skin will appear red and slightly swollen after the session. This will decrease greatly throughout the first 24 hours and should completely resolve within 2-4 days.

Things to know before your appointment:

  • Avoid Accutane for 6 months prior to procedure.
  • Discontinue any topical agents that may increase sensitivity one week prior to microneedling (Retin- A, retinoids, exfoliants, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, hydroquinone).
  • Do not take any anti- inflammatory medications for 3 days prior to microneedling (no ibuprofen or aspirin products, Tylenol is ok).
  • If you are prone to cold sores we recommend that you take an antiviral medication for 2 days prior to the day of your treatment. This can be provided by your PCP.
